Greg Bopes
Assistant Vice President, Assistant Trust Officer and Accredited Farm Manager
Greg works closely with his clients to guide, manage and implement decisions that will carry them through the challenges of farmland ownership. Owning farmland is a special opportunity whether the farm has family significance or is owned as an investment. Greg can offer expertise in managing the tenant relationship and has the confidence of clients locally and all over the US that own farmland in Iowa. Greg strives to make your farmland ownership rewarding knowing your asset is being taken care of for years to come.
Greg is a Maquoketa native and graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in Soil and Crop Science. Prior to joining the FAS team in 2015, Greg used his Retail Agronomy knowledge in his role as Plant Manager and Crop Specialist at AgVantage FS in Maquoketa. These past experiences have allowed him to apply his education and knowledge as a Certified Crop Adviser with the 4R Nutrient Management Specialist designation, and provide clients a solid background they can trust. Greg earned his Iowa Real Estate License in 2016 and became an Accredited Farm Manager in 2019.
Greg is involved with numerous community activities and serves on the Maquoketa Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Greg and his wife, Katie were married in 2012 and have two beautiful girls. Agriculture plays a key role in both of their lives with Katie working as the County Youth Coordinator for the Jackson County Extension Office. As summer brings with it the fair, it becomes a busy season for his family. In their spare time, they are involved in Fire Department activities and love attending sporting events locally and nationally.
